Desirae Anne Bartholomew

Desirae Anne Bartholomew, a woman of compassion and warmth, passed away on August 31, 2025, at the age of 47. Born on March 13, 1978, in New Bedford, Massachusetts, Desirae’s vibrant spirit and loving heart touched everyone she met.

She graduated from New Bedford High School and found her calling in early childhood education. She was deeply passionate about her work, beginning as a daycare teacher and rising to become a regional trainer for O2B Kids. Her career was a true reflection of her dedication and her selfless love for all children.

Beyond her work, Desirae’s greatest joy was being a devoted wife and a proud, doting mother. She treasured every moment with her family, whether at home or at the beach, where the sound of the waves brought her peace and happiness.

To her husband and daughter, Desirae was more than a wife and mother — she was their safe harbor, their light, and their greatest blessing. Her compassionate nature, combined with a smile that could brighten any day, made her presence a gift to all who knew her. She loved endlessly and unconditionally, and her love will continue to guide her family through every tide and season.

Desirae is survived by her devoted husband of 20 years, Bryon Bartholomew, and her cherished daughter, Meah Anne Bartholomew; her mother, Roberta Mullin; her father, Bruce Duarte Sr.; and her grandmother, Nancy Vieira. She was a loving sister to Liesa Williams-Beauvais, Bruce Duarte Jr., Joseph Duarte, Terri Gollet, Tarah Duarte, and Kelly Joyner. In addition, she is survived by her mother-in-law, Semora R. Davis; her father-in-law, Norman Bartholomew; and her brother-in-law, Dwayne Bartholomew (Angelique). She was preceded in death by her late father-in-law, Leslie (Mr. D) Davis Sr. Desirae also leaves behind her many beloved nieces and nephews, along with a host of extended family and dear friends whose lives she touched with her kindness and love.
