It was such a shock to learn of Ed's passing. He touched so many lives here at Honda and will be missed by many.

Beth and Rachel. I just learned about the passing of Ed and want you to know your in my thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. It's promised in the scriptures that we shall see our loved ones again for those that believe in the son of man/Jesus Christ. It was obvious that Ed had this personal walk with our savior and I feel blessed to have met him on several occasions.

I just wanted to share some thoughts on a very special friend.  I never referred or thought of Ed as a co-worker.   To me, he was a leader, a strong leader and most important, a caring friend that I could always count on.  He hired me 13 years ago as a DSM and served as a mentor for my entire career at Honda.  Ed forged some key values that helped me grow and learn over the years in my professional and personal life.  One lesson in particular that I will never forget; When my first son Evan was born I notified Ed of our blessing from God.  He told me that I just started the most important job of my life, my role as father and husband. 
Below is a list of things that come to mind when I think of my friend, Ed Harris: 
One of the happiest smiles /Made work fun/Used his quick wit and playful approach to keep things lite/Taught me fundamental elements such as punctuality, dress well for the occasion/He was so sincere in his approach to people/Gave 100% the effort/Confident/Professional/Family man

When Ed was in charge I just felt good

We are very saddened of your loss.  I had the pleasure of working with Ed in both the Honda and Acura division over the past 11 years.  I was fortunate enough to really get to know Ed over the years and grew fond of his quick wit and smooth professionalism that he always portrayed. We both worked the Honda Classic together and I had the opportunity to see the "weekend side" of Ed - it was a great time.  I hope that you can find the strength to carry on. Thoughts and prayers to Monty and Jackie Harris and family from Hilda Kelsay and her entire family. Edward was a little boy when they moved next door to us. Hilda is now 90 years old, and has always held a special place in her heart for Edward, as she does for Monty and Jackie. May your heart and soul find peace and comfort in this difficult time.

I was shocked and saddened to learn of Edward's passing.  I'll always remember him as my red-haired, freckled-face buddy from next door with his Tootsie Roll bank and model cars.  We had lots of laughs.  Heaven just got a lot more fun!

Ed was a RARE find.  He will be missed along with all his great stories but mostly his kind heart.  Not everyone gets randomly telephoned by Hank Aaron - that tells all of us something.  Such a cool man!  :)

I always called him by his full name, "Ed Harris."  One day he asked me why I called him by his full name and I explained to him that I worked in a company where we had five, count'em, FIVE Eds so I was in the habit of calling them by their names. Old habits are hard to break, I told him but if he wanted me to call him Ed I could do that.  He told me it made him feel special that I called him Ed Harris. What I'll miss the most is that awesome 1,000 watt smile of his.  It's hard to believe I'll never see it again.  Ed Harris, may you transition into your next life time with the same grace, laughter and infectious smile that you brought into this one.

My heart goes out to you in this time of great loss for your husband/father Ed.  I didn't get to work with him for very long, but he was truly a kind and wonderful man, and great addition to the PE Division of Honda.  His smile and wonderful demeanor is what I will miss seeing every day...

There was something about Ed, a quiet confidence that emanated from him, you couldn't help but like and believe in the guy.  It was a pleasure to be around him, to play tennis with him, to have a drink with him and most of all it was an honor to know him and I will surely miss him.
