

God called His faithful servant, Edwin Eugene Slover, age 81, home on February 14, 2010 in Roswell, GA. He was the eldest son born to Martha and Edwin A. Slover in East Eely, NV, March 9, 1928. He is survived by his daughter, Lesley Kammerer and granddaughter, Kathryn as well as sisters Dorothy Morgan and Wilma Wall. Edwin lived at The Chambrel of Roswell with his wife of 52 years, Paula Bunn Slover, who predeceased him in 2005. Edwin was an Engineering graduate of the Missouri School of Mines in Rolla, MO. He served in the Army Corps of Engineers during the Korean War. Edwin was a Chemical and Environmental Engineer for Union Carbide for 35 years and then went on to do be a Vice President with UXT Corporation, a plant management software company. Edwin was instrumental in developing the first self-contained landfill for Union Carbide. He was passionate about science and life. He also was a frequent guest lecturer for Butler and Clemson Universities. He was an Eagle Scout and a Scout Master for over 10 years. During his Scout Master years, he started the Planetarium at Sunrise Museum in his home of Charleston, WV. Both he and his wife were great supporters of Young Life Ministries and Campus Crusade for Christ. Edwin served as an Elder and small group bible study leader at his church of Oakhurst Presbyterian in Charleston, WV. Later, he and his wife retired in Simpsonville, SC where they attended First Presbyterian Church of Greenville and shared many friendships and fond memories. At The Chambrel, he was active in the Residents Assoc., Spanish class, and led Wednesday Scripture Study. He also was a member of the American Legion and of the Roswell Historical Architecture Society. Edwin also enjoyed aeronautics, geology, music and reading. He and his wife attended Dunwoody Baptist Church with his daughter’s family. He will be remembered for his devotion to his wife, daughter, granddaughter and friends. His strong faith in Jesus Christ was apparent to all who knew him. He loved sharing his faith and encouraging others to trust in Jesus. He loved people and Visitation for Edwin will be held on Thursday, Feb. 18 from 6-8pm at Roswell Funeral Home in Roswell, GA. A Memorial Service will be held at The Chambrel at Roswell in the Fireside Room from 2-3pm on Sat, Feb 20. Edwin will be interred with his wife at Greenlawn Cemetery in Roswell, GA.
