Mrs. Elaine Hill Norcross, 77, of Roswell, GA, passed away on Jan. 24, 2012. Born in Ft. Monroe, VA, she grew up "in the army". She graduated from Brevard High School, Brevard, NC, earned a B.A. from UNC Greensboro, and an M.A. from UNC Chapel Hill. She served in the U.S. Navy after college being honorably discharged as a Lieutenant to start her family. She worked in her civilian life in retail commission sales. She retired in 2004 and moved to Roswell from Pass Christian, MS after Hurricane Katrina finding a new life with many friends. She was a Life Master with the ACBL, loved traveling especially by sea, and was a supporter of wildlife preservation and conservation. She is preceded in death by her husband, Alexander F. Norcross, Sr., and survived by her daughter Elizabeth Norcross , son, Alex , Jr., daughter-in-law Barbara, and grandson Alexander III. Visitation will be from 10:30 - 11 a.m. and the Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11 a.m., Sat., Jan. 28, 2012, both at Roswell Funeral Home, 950 Mansell Rd., Roswell, GA 30076. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the National Wildlife Federation or the Nature Conservancy. Roswell Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
