

It is with deep, and heavy sadness that we announce the death of Emmanuel Amarkai Lartey, who passed on October 24th, 2015, at the Roswell Nursing and Rehab home in Roswell, GA. Daniel was born in Accra, Ghana December 14th, 1939, lived a full and fun life travelling the world for school, work and family time. He trained as an engineer and worked with Ghana Airways as a flight engineer for several year, after which he went back to a childhood dream of being an entrepreneur. He successfully run several restaurants in Accra for several years until he saw an auction during one of his multiple visits to the UK. He came back home fascinated with this vocation and sure enough set up another entity ‘Nil Desperandum Mart’ to run an auction business for several years. In his late fifties, he wanted to spend some time with his grandkids in Canada and United and moved to North America in 1992. He continued to travel between the US and Ghana to spend time with family both immediate and distant until his passing in October. He was predeceased by his wife of 50 years, Emma; survived by his sons, David, George and Lionel as well as daughters Tamara and Nadia; grandchildren, sons and daughters in law, brothers and sisters, nephews and nieces in the US, Canada and Europe.
Emmanuel loved life and did not miss an opportunity to enjoy every aspect of his life including an active sports life playing tennis and golf. He loved to dance and was always the life of the party. He was a kind and generous man and gave of freely to all in need. He was a member of the Accra Tennis and Golf clubs as well as the Hans Memorial Friendship in Ghana. He was an active member of the Anglican Church of Ghana.
A service will be held at St David’s Episcopal Church on Saturday, November 14th, at 12:00 noon for all friends and family members pay their last respects before flying his remains to Accra Ghana for interment on November 28th, 2015.
While our hearts hurt deeply, we know he rests peacefully in our Almighty’s arms in eternal glory. He will forever remain in our hearts.
Go forth, Christian soul, from this world in the name of God the almighty Father,
who created you, in the name of Jesus Christ, Son of the living God, who suffered for you,
in the name of the Holy Spirit, who was poured out upon you, go forth, faithful Christian.
