
Eric Edward Anderson, Age 56, of Milton, Georgia, passed away Saturday May 7, 2016. Survivors include his wife of 31 years, Amy Imwold Anderson; mother, Beatrice Cooper Anderson; sister, Wendy Anderson Sheldon; and his dog Mickey. Eric was preceded in death by his father, Leland Anderson.
Eric was born in Pomona, California and grew up in nearby Arcadia, moving to Dunwoody, GA when he was 17. He graduated from Georgia State University in 1982. He worked for Reliance Trust Company for 12 years and served as President of Reliance Operations Services for four years during that time. Eric was well respected by those he worked with.
He had a deep passion for auto racing and everything to do with it. He spent several years driving high performance open track on road courses throughout the Southeast including Road Atlanta and Virginia International Raceway and was generally regarded as one of the fastest drivers on track. He was highly intelligent and curious, and was the go-to person for friends and family when something needed to be built or fixed. Eric was loved and admired as a husband, son, brother, and friend, and was known for his wit and great sense of humor. He loved to laugh and had a way of making people smile. He was a happy guy with an enormous appreciation for life.
A memorial gathering is planned for Friday, May 20, from 3:00 to 6:00 at North River Tavern in Dunwoody.
