Erika DiMarco, aged 86, passed away on December 3rd. She was born on September 11, 1939, to Arthur and Johanna Steinman in Buttelborn, Germany. Emigrating to the US in 1960, she met and married Bernard DiMarco, her husband for 64 years until his passing in June of this year.
Erika was a beloved Wife, Mother and Grandmother. She was known for her devotion to her family and grandchildren. A strong and energetic homemaker, she loved nothing better than to host her children for large family gatherings and meals. These grew with the family and marked many holidays and birthdays over the years. Despite many health challenges in her life, which she bore with great courage, she never wavered in her dedication to her family and her Faith.
Throughout their life, Erika was a devoted mother to her children and grandchildren and made friends easily with her outgoing manner. She had many friends across every area of her life – from her sisters and their families to her husband’s colleagues and wives, to his extended family, and to neighbors. She was constantly in touch with the lives of countless individuals she cared for.
She will be deeply missed by her children John, Tom, Mike and Stephanie; her 10 grandchildren; her sister Gisela and her family; her sister Ursula in Germany and many cousins and friends in Europe, Michigan, Georgia and Florida.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Bernie.
A Memorial Service will be held on December 18th at 1PM at St. Brendan the Navigator Catholic Church to celebrate Erika's life and honor her contributions to our world.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Arthritis Foundation, https://www.arthritis.org/ in memory of Erika DiMarco.
Erika's departure leaves a void in our hearts, but her legacy of family and faith will forever be cherished.
