Frances was born to Nancy Inez (Dorton) Kimberly, and Kessler Kimberly on December 25, 1931, in Lake City, Florida. Relocating to Cochran, Georgia, Fran went to Cochran High School and was honored as valedictorian of her graduating class in her Senior year 1947-1948. After graduation, she moved to live with her Aunt Orene (Dorton) Nolan.
She began a career as a civil servant working for several federal facilities including, but not limited to Fort Conley, Fort McPherson, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms (ATF), the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the U.S. Post Office in downtown Atlanta.
While working at the US Post Office, she met her now deceased husband Willima Otis White of 60 years. They got married on December 21, 1951 and had an only child, Susan Denise (White) Brooks on May 12, 1955.
Fran is best remembered for her classy style, and beautiful smile. She loved people and made it her personal mission to let others see Jesus through her. She taught Primary children for many years at West End Baptist, and Sandy Plains Baptist as well as teaching Adult Women at First Baptist Roswell. She sang in the choir at each church and always carried an anthem in her heart. In her later years she taught a Bible class at Brookdale where she lived in independent living for 9 years after her husband predeceased her.
Fran had a servant's heart and enjoyed sharing a meal with those she loved. She was an excellent cook and after working 8 hours each day, was a master at whipping together a healthy meal on a tight budget. A woman of deep faith and discernment, Fran’s life was marked by faithful service to her Lord and those around her.
She was also a voracious reader. She eagerly shared book recommendations, but her favorite two books were the Bible and Gone with the Wind.
She was lovely referred to as “The Queen Mum.”
She stayed sharp by playing cards, Mahjong and multi-card Bingo. She cherished her close friends who have faithfully supported her through this transition at every stage. Fran is survived by her only child, Susan Denise (White) Brooks and her favorite son-in-law, Roger Donald Brooks.
To honor her life, in lieu of flowers donations may be made to the First Baptist Church of Roswell General Music Fund or The Organ Fund.
