Gemma D'Alessandro

Gemma D’Alessandro, 86, of Roswell, GA, passed away on Saturday March 29th, 2025, at Brookdale Chambrel Senior Living in Roswell, GA. Gemma was born on May 21, 1938, in Ari, in the Province of Chieti, Italy. She was the daughter of the late Luigi and Giulia (DiSabato) D’Alessandro.

Gemma and her husband came to the U.S. in 1963 and established residency in Reading, PA. She was a dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother. Gemma was a devout Catholic and member of Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church in Reading, PA. Her passions were cooking, gardening, and in her early adult years Gemma was a talented seamstress often designing /making her own clothing. She enjoyed volunteering at Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church and relished extended family get togethers. She later moved to Roswell, GA in 2017.

Gemma is survived by her husband of 64 years, Nicolino “Nick” D’Alessandro, whom she married on February 6, 1961 in Chieti, Italy (Ari). In addition to her husband, she is survived by her son Thomas A. D’Alessandro and wife Sarah (Fiester) D’Alessandro and three grandchildren: Nicholas A. D’Alessandro, Anna Kate D’Alessandro, and Thomas E. D’Alessandro. She is also survived by her twin sister Elvira D’Alessandro of Shillington, PA and many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her sister - Amalia DiFelice, brother – Sergio “Val” D’Alessandro, and brother - Raymond D’Alessandro.

A Catholic mass will be celebrated on Monday April 14th, 2025, 10:00 a.m. at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 535 Rucker Rd., Alpharetta, GA 30004 followed by final committal service at Green Lawn Cemetery 950 Mansell Rd, Roswell, GA 30076.
