Jean met her beloved husband, John, at a cocktail party in 1962 while working as a Charge Nurse at Michael Reece Hospital in Chicago, Illinois. In addition to working as a registered psychiatric nurse, she received her Bachelor’s degree from Thomas Moore College. Jean worked for Jewish Hospital - The Health Alliance of Cincinnati for 20 years and was responsible for launching and managing their first outpatient hospital psychiatric program before retiring in 2001.
Jean’s most proudest accomplishment was rearing three powerhouse daughters alongside John. Each one among the top of their respective fields. Jean was equally proud of the mother’s they have become, along with her beloved sons-in- law, raising caring and compassionate children who have brought her so much joy.
Known her to her grandchildren as both Nina and Bubby, Jean was a devoted grandmother, even when hundreds of miles separated them. In both her children and grandchildren, she instilled the love and importance of family and Jewish heritage and traditions. She often would remark and say “not bad for the grandchild of a man from a shtetl.
