Grace Hall

Grace Bylsma Hall is survived by her two children, Jane Hall Gore of Sky Valley, GA and William Barry Hall and wife Diana of Kennesaw, GA; four grandchildren, William Brett Gore of Lake Lanier, GA, Christopher Mark Gore of Las Vegas, NV, William Scott Hall and wife Wendy of Marietta , GA, Erik Wesley Hall and wife Melissa of Raleigh, NC; four great-grandchildren, William Reed Hall, Madison Lynn Hall, Jackson Wesley Hall, Grace Avery Hall.

Grace was born in Albany, NY September 23, 1921. Grace's parents immigrated to New York from Holland. She had two sisters, Eva and Audrey, and two brothers, Don and John. Grace is survived by her cousin, Gertrude of Conyers, GA. Grace graduated from business school. She met her husband Bill at a US Navy dance in Norfolk, VA, and they were married for 54 years before his passing in 1996. During Bill's Navy career they lived in San Diego, CA, Norfolk, VA, Newport RI, Jamestown, RI, Huntington, WV, and retired to Fort Lauderdale, FL. They later moved to Franklin, NC, and Roswell, GA. Grace was a business woman working in insurance, banking and accounting. Her hobbies included fine art creating many beautiful pieces for family. She volunteered as a Candy Striper in local hospitals in Franklin and Roswell, the Red Cross and USO in Jamestown, Cub and Boy Scouts and Brownies, Knitting Circle for preemies at Hammond Glen, Sandy Springs, GA where she resided for 17 years. She loved fishing for sea bass off the rocks at Beavertail Lighthouse on the Atlantic Ocean in Jamestown, RI, with her best friend Shirley Olson. She loved the beach and salt water of tiny Jamestown Island in Narragansett Bay, RI, and Fort Lauderdale, FL. Grace survived five different cancers beginning in 1974 through 1996 and many years with Muscular Dystrophy. She passed on Friday September 4th, 2015 at Sunrise Brighton Gardens where she happily and peacefully resided for almost two years.
