Helen Lentz McDonnold

Helen was born to the late Grace Everet Lentz and the late Fred Henry Lentz on November 25, 1940 in Asheville, NC. She grew up in Asheville and married her high school sweetheart, Hexie Key McDonnold on August 20, 1960. Helen lived most of her life in Atlanta where she and Hexie raised their children, Elizabeth McDonnold Twait (Jeff) and Stephen Key McDonnold (Kathy). Helen had a 20 year career with Pan American Life. Later in life, she volunteered for 10 + years as a volunteer at North Fulton Hospital. Helen will be remembered for her love of knitting and bird watching. She traveled extensively but mostly loved to be home with her family and dogs.

Helen is preceded in death by Hexie Key McDonnold and Fred Henry Lentz, Jr. (brother).

Her memory will be cherished by her children, grandchildren Charlotte McDonnold, William Twait, Andrew Twait and Olivia McDonnold; and extended family members and friends.

Services will be held at Mount Pisgah UMC on April 21 at 3:00 pm with Steve Wood officiating. Reception following in the church gathering area.
