

James Patrick McAllister left this physical world to be with God on February 8, 2025. The son of James Archibald McAllister and Margaret Anita Verrastro, Jim was born on October 7, 1942 in Jersey City, New Jersey. He grew up with his parents, older sister Carmel Ann Lopaka and younger brother Gerald (“Jerry”) Joseph McAllister in Dunmore, Pennsylvania and graduated from Dunmore High School, class of 1960. After high school, Jim served in the United States Air Force, where he loaded bombers during the Bay of Pigs crisis that nearly led to a nuclear conflict between the United States and the Soviet Union. He was honorably discharged from the Air Force after four years of service to our country. While stationed at the Amarillo Air Force base, he fell in love with Barbara Lee Wright. They married in 1963. Jim and Barbara had three children together, James Lee McAllister, Patrick Todd McAllister and Sean Tyler McAllister. The family lived in Richardson, Texas from 1974 until 1980. After 1980, Jim lived in Roswell, Georgia for the remainder of his life.
Jim worked in the apparel industry his entire career and was a respected leader and executive for several international companies. He was elected as the president of the International Association of Clothing Designers in Milan, Italy in the 1980s, something he always said was a career highlight for him. Jim and his son Todd founded JTS Supply in 1991. The company manufactured pressing equipment and sold it to retailers such as Mens Warehouse and others. In 1999, the company became known as McAllister Retail Services and Todd continues to run the successful company to this day.
During his life, he was known as a stylish dresser and always had nice cars. Jim was athletic and exposed his family to numerous activities including beach time, boating, snow skiing, running and other athletic activities. He enjoyed watching sports, reading biographies and spending time with family and friends. He was well known as a devotee of the Penn State Nittany Lions football team. During his later years, Jim married Farah K. Mohajer and they enjoyed a deep love and devotion for each other. He is survived by his wife Farah, his sister and brother, his three boys, and 7 grandchildren (Megan, Katie, Matt, Will, Grace, Lilian, and Elijah) and two step-grandchildren (Ethan and Riley Duignan) and also by Farah’s daughters, Farnaz Sanat Khan, Yasaman Sanat Khan, and step-granddaughter Celine.
A Celebration of Life and Catholic Mass for James will be held Monday, March 24, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Saint Brigid Catholic Church, 3400 Old Alabama Road, Johns Creek, Georgia 30022. Following the service, James will be laid to rest in Green Lawn Cemetery & Mausoleum, 950 Mansell Road, Roswell, Georgia 30076.
