Janet S. Conomikes, 85, passed away peacefully on November 8, 2024, surrounded by family. She was born on June 10, 1939, and graduated from Carrick High School before attending Bethany College as an English major.
Janet's career included several years with the Earl Wheeler School of Modeling, followed by a long tenure as a counter manager for Lancôme cosmetics. She was dedicated to her family, never missing a sporting event or dance recital for her grandchildren.
An active member of the Episcopal Church, Janet was also a dedicated volunteer. She enjoyed cooking, and spending time playing bridge, canasta, mahjong, and exercising.
She is survived by her children, Lisa Conomikes (Mark) Mongell, Dean (Kara) Conomikes, and Steven Conomikes; grandchildren, PJ (Amber) Mongell, Gia (Maxwell) Binner, and Mark (Daulton) Mongell Jr., Alexa, Zoe, and Thea Conomikes; and great-grandchildren, Maxwell Binner Jr., Ziro Mongell, and Bowen Binner. She was preceded in death by her father, Dr. John F. Sexauer; mother, Isabel Sexauer; stepmother, Dorothy T. Sexauer; sister, Suzanne Sexauer; and brother, Jack (Judy) Sexauer. Janet leaves behind her niece and nephew, John (Tracy) Sexauer and Jill Sexauer (Jason) Schick.
The service will be at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, 4048 Brownsville Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15227 on Saturday December 14, 2024 at 10:00am
Her departure leaves a void in our hearts, but her legacy will forever be cherished by her family and friends.
