Janice E. Austin

Janice was born July 19, 1951 in Atlanta, GA to the late Pete and Margaret Austin and was the oldest of three daughters.

Janice accepted Christ as her Savior and lived a life transformed by Him. Throughout her life Janice met with numerous physical limitations and discomforts. Yet, she consistently chose to focus on the blessings of God and exemplified contentment and positivity. John 13 reminds us that Christ’s disciples are identified by their love for one another. In no one else’s life is this more evident than that of Janice. She served the Lord with her whole heart in her family and community; always quick to share the hope she found in Christ. Janice spent time daily in earnest prayer for the needs of her friends and family and she was often the first to reach out with a call or card of encouragement during difficult times. While she did not have biological children on this Earth, her life has yielded an eternal impact for the Kingdom of Heaven.

Her parents, Pete and Margaret Austin precede her in death. Janice leaves her sisters Sheila Gilstrap (Austin) married to John Gilstrap, Phyllis Austin, niece Sonia Range (Gilstrap) married to Chad Range, and nephew Shawn Gilstrap. Janice was beloved by her great nieces and nephew Abigail, Isabella, and John Lawrence Range as well as Leila Gilstrap.

The family will receive friends on Friday evening 8/2/2024 from 6:00pm - 8:00pm at Roswell Funeral Home located at 950 Mansell Rd Roswell, Ga 30076. The funeral will be held Saturday 8/3/2024 in the Chapel of Roswell Funeral Home at 10:00am, interment to immediately follow.
