During her high school years at Boone she loved being a majorette.
In her later years she enjoyed spending time gardening, putting together puzzles, crocheting, cooking, tinkering with small appliances, and spending time with her family.
Janice is preceded in death by her husband Carmine A. Vara, and her sister Elsie Winegard.
Her survivors include her daughter; Victoria Vara, sons; John Vara (Donna), and Henry Vara (Nancy), grandchildren; Vanessa, Andrea, Carmine, Angela, Adrianna, Karen, and Julia, great grandchild; Rowen, sisters; Imogene Whitehead, Wilda Cook, and brother; John Lee.
A funeral service will be held at Roswell Funeral Home on Tuesday December 15, 2015 at 2:00pm; with a visitation starting at 1:00pm. Interment will immediately follow the service at Green Lawn Cemetery.
