

Jared Arthur Torres, aged 53, passed away suddenly on January 12, 2025. Jared was born on August 25, 1971 to Jose Juan Torres and Barbara Ann Staszak, in Chicago, Illinois. He graduated from Gordon Tech High School and went on to Loyola University where he earned a Bachelor of Science and DePaul University where he earned his MBA.
Throughout his life, Jared achieved many accomplishments in both his personal and professional life. Jared loved the outdoors, hiking, biking and camping. He enjoyed sharing his love of the outdoors with his wife and children. He also loved his hometown of Chicago and took great pride in sharing the city with his family on their trips there. In business Jared went on to become a prominent figure in the Gaming & Tech Industry starting in Game Development and working his way up to Chief Technology Officer. He was a strategic technology leader with over 20 years of experience driving innovation, product development and optimizing operations in both land-based and online gaming environments as well as Fintech payment systems for Class II, Class III Lottery and skill-based gaming.
Jared left a lasting impact on colleagues, friends, and the industry he loved. His kindness, mentorship and pioneering contributions will be deeply missed.
He will be deeply missed by his loving wife, Kelly Torres; children, Benjamin Torres (14) and Caroline Torres (12); father, Jose Torres; sister, Kerry Torres (Robert); and brothers, Christian Torres (Veronika) and Nathen Torres (Anna). He also leaves behind his nieces and nephews: Ashley Debassige, Michael Debassige, Hope Debassige, Evan Cintron, Ethan Torres, Aviana Torres, Isabella Torres, Ainsley Hutto, Camryn Hutto and Wylie Hutto. He also leaves behind Aunts and Uncles: Brunilda Torres, Maggie Torres and JoAnne Wilson (Jerry). Along with a host of cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Barbara Ann Staszak; grandparents: Minerva and Jose Torres Hernandez and Mary and George Staszak; and his nephew, Jarel Cintron.
A funeral service will be held January 18, 2025 at 11:00 am at Roswell Funeral Home with a reception at their home immediately following. A burial service will take place in Chicago, Illinois on January 24, 2025 at Queen of Heaven Catholic Cemetery.
