

Jean Dorothea Kautter, 95, passed away peacefully on April 17th, 2025 in Cumming, Georgia. She was born on September 3rd, 1929 in West Reading, Pennsylvania to parents Mark and Anna (Betz) Zerbe of Millbach, Pa. Jean was a devoted wife of over 74 years to William J. Kautter Sr. who will deeply miss her as will her son, William J. Kautter Jr. and daughter-in-law Carol Kautter of Naples, Florida. She will also be missed by her granddaughters Nicole Melissa Kautter of Decatur, Ga. and Michelle Alison Kautter of Hickory Flat, Ga. and by Nicole's husband Brad Fink and Michelle's fiancé, Jesse Scott. Jean will also be missed by her adoring great-grandchildren Colton Fink, 10 and Cruz Fink, 6.
Jean was an avid reader throughout her life often reading two to three books a week. She enjoyed family cookouts, afternoons at the Green Valley Pool as well as traveling with her husband and friends to Florida in the winters. She volunteered at the Reading Fair every year, helped at the Reading Historical Society and was a lifelong member of St. Peter's United Church of Christ in West Lawn, Pa. In her early years she held various administrative positions at American Chain & Cable, Butcher & Singer, and the Campbell Kautter Insurance Agency all in the Reading area.
She was preceded in death by her younger sisters, Barbara Deem of Whitfield, Pa. and Ann Brophy of Wyomissing, Pennsylvania.
A celebration of life service will be held at Roswell Funeral Home in Roswell, Georgia.
Jean's departure will leave a void in the hearts of her immediate and extended family and all who knew her.
