M. Joan Feeman or as she was known as “Joann” died peacefully at home on February 12 of natural causes. She was born in Calumet Michigan a daughter of Sadie and Harry Roskelly. She was predeceased by her husband of 56 years William Perry Feeman and her 3 brothers Jackie, William and Robert. Joann is survived by her two children Dr. Mark Feeman and Lynn Feeman. She is also survived by her grandchildren Perry Burris and Zachary Feeman along with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Joann moved from the Upper Peninsula Michigan to Detroit when she was 17 years of age. She met her husband while working as a bank teller. She raised her two children in Detroit while employed in the accounting and tax preparation business with Sasena accounting until 2002 when she and Bill were transferred to Atlanta to be near her children and grandchildren.
Joann was a member of Christ the King Lutheran Church and enjoyed bridge immensely. She would play 5 days a week and felt it was a failure if she only finished first 4 times. She accumulated 550 Master bridge points. She was actively involved in Bethesda Lutheran Church in Detroit Michigan where she was a Sunday School teacher and played piano/organ in the choir.
She was known for her gritty and tough sense of humor. There are many gaga isms ( called this by her granddaughter because she could not say grandmother) the family will remember forever. She smoked and drank throughout her pregnancy and would say “I produced a Dr. and Nurse Practitioner.”
When her children were young and out of control she would say “ I’m down to my last nerve and you are standing on it.” Also she told them “ go outside and blow the stink off” She was proud to be called ““a tough old broad.” But was sweet and supportive.
