John Bernis

John was born on January 7, 1941, in Manhattan to Joseph Bernis and Mary De la Matta. Throughout his life, John was a devoted husband, loving father, faithful friend, and passionate servant of God. He was deeply committed to helping others and dedicated much of his life to preaching about God and sharing His love with everyone he encountered.

John found his greatest joy in seeing his family grow in faith, love, and unity in Jesus Christ. His compassionate spirit, missionary heart, and unwavering devotion touched countless lives and left a lasting impact on all who knew him.

He is lovingly remembered by his beloved wife, Luisa; his children, Johann, John, Leslie, Brenda, and Cynthia; his cherished grandchildren; and many extended family members and dear friends who will continue to carry his memory in their hearts.

Family and friends are invited to gather in celebration of John’s life and legacy during a viewing from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM on May 28, 2026. A funeral service honoring and celebrating his life will be held on May 29, 2026 at 11:00 AM, at Roswell Funeral Home.

John’s departure leaves a profound void in the hearts of those who loved him, but his legacy of faith, kindness, compassion, and service will forever be cherished and continue to inspire all who were blessed to know him.
