

Redmond, John T. Age 91 of Roswell, GA, formerly of Garden City, NY. Died January 9, 2015. Mr. Redmond was born in Brooklyn, NY on October 9, 1923. He served during World War II as a Technical Sergeant in the Army Air Corps and flew 33 missions as a member of a B-24 crew in Europe. Mr. Redmond received his B.A. and J.D. from St. John’s University in Queens, NY. He was a founding partner of the Manhattan law firm Manning, Carey, Redmond & Tully, with former Governor Hugh Carey of New York. Mr. Redmond was later a founding partner in the law firm Redmond & Pollio in Garden City. During the course of his career, he played a pivotal role in the representation of the successful appeal of the Wilmington 10 conviction. Mr. Redmond also served as counsel for the New York State Council for the Arts. He retired with his late wife Patricia D. Redmond to Roswell. He is survived by daughters Mrs. Rhys (Christine) Thomas of Roswell, Ms. Patricia Redmond of Toms River, NJ, sons John P. (Lee) Redmond, Teaneck, NJ, Timothy E. (Andrea) Redmond, Andover, MA, David J. (Barbara) Redmond, Great Falls, VA, and Phillip J. (Jennifer) Redmond, Boston, MA, and is also survived by eleven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. The funeral Mass will be held Friday, January 16th at St. Peter Chanel Church in Roswell, GA. Internment will follow at Green Lawn Cemetery in Roswell, GA. The family will receive friendsThursday, from 5 until 8pm at the funeral home.
