On August 30, 2010, Kathryn Lorraine “Kathy” Elmore passed after a courageous, 12-year battle with breast cancer... She was 58. Born December 5, 1951 and originally from Chicago, IL, Kathy married her love, William L. “Bill” Elmore, sharing over 30 wonderful years together. They proudly raised two children, with Kathy building a solid foundation of love and friendship with her children, close family and close friends.
Kathy loved crafts, to paint, sew, cross stitch and crochet, loved playing tennis and loved hanging out with her friends. But most importantly, she loved her family. She doted on her children taking her son to years of soccer and golf and her daughter to years of tennis and swimming, later supporting them into their adulthood. She fell in love again, this time with her grandchildren, bragging on them even more than her children. She loved with all of her heart. And she is deeply loved and greatly missed.
Kathy is survived by her son, William G. Elmore, her daughter, Lauren K. Harshaw, her son and daughter-in-laws Jamey Harshaw and Kira Kuhn-Elmore, her grandchildren Jack and Emmy Harshaw and Penelope Elmore, her sister, Cynthia Torres of Katy, TX and her mother, Julia Sanuw of Chicago, IL. Visitation will be held Thursday, September 2 from 6 to 8pm at the Roswell Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held Friday, September 3 at 1 pm at Roswell United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Kathy’s name to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.
