Born on March 24, 1944, in Danville, Kentucky, Kelly was the daughter of the late W.D. Lannum, Jr. and Louise Lannum. She graduated from Transylvania University in Lexington, Kentucky, where she met her beloved husband, Ritchie, and formed many friendships that she cherished throughout her life. She was also a proud member of Chi Omega sorority.
Kelly dedicated much of her life to education, beginning her career as a teacher in Kentucky. After stepping away from the classroom to raise her children, she later returned to education and retired from Crabapple Crossing Elementary School in Alpharetta, Georgia. She was a strong and lasting influence on countless students, many of whom later reached out to her family to express the impact she had on their lives.
A devoted and family-oriented woman, Kelly shared a close bond with her brother, Larrry Lannum, whom she adored and also with cousins, Donald, Kenneth and Mary Jo Helm, whom she loved as siblings. She was known for her kindness, warmth, and gentle spirit. Kelly had a way of lighting up any room she entered and carried a positive outlook on life that touched everyone around her.
She is survived by her loving children, Brion Zaeh (Sarah) and Whitney Watts (Greg); her cherished grandchildren, Katie, Jonathan, and Marshall Zaeh, and Cooper, Spencer, and Fletcher Watts; her brother, Larry Lannum (Margie).
Kelly was preceded in death by her husband of over 55 years, Ritchie Zaeh.
