Leo James Miller Sr.

Leo James Miller Sr. age 91, was born in Blue Earth Minnesota on August 16, 1927. After spending his childhood living on the family farm, he joined the Army serving during WWII in Alaska. He graduated from the University of Richmond and was a member of Phi Kappa Theta Fraternity. Leo met the love of his life Gene Slaughter and they were married in 1950. Gene and Leo were blessed with 6 wonderful children who brought them many joys. Leo moved his family from Minneapolis to Roswell in 1977 where he later retired from Westinghouse. He was a founding parishioner of the Catholic Church of Saint Ann in Marietta. He volunteered with Saint Vincent de Paul and many other ministries. He sang with the choir into his 80’s. While retired, he took up painting and served on the board of the Dunwoody Fine Art Association. Leo and Gene had a real passion for antiques which they bought and sold as Millers Gen’l Merchandise. Leo passed away peacefully on October 17th, 2018.

Leo was preceded in death by his beloved wife Gene and his daughter Christina Neustadt, as well as his brothers: Harold, Clifford, Ralph & Roman Miller and sisters: Luella Johnson and Patricia Boggs.

His grandchildren, Emily Sulerud(Keith Winkles), Elizabeth Messina(Dylan), Kathrine Neustadt, Ian Miller, Peter Charles Miller, Rachel Miller, Amanda Miller, MaryAynne Miller, Samuel Miller, W. Stuart Miller, and Joseph Miller

His great grandchildren, Chase Brock, Dallas Messina, Killian Harrison, Hayleigh Messina, Luna Qualls, Ender Qualls, and Brinnley Miller

The family invites you to come celebrate the life of Leo James Miller on Monday, October 22, 2018. Visitation will begin at 9:30 am in Nolan Hall followed by Mass of the Resurrection at 11:00am at Catholic Church of St. Ann, 4905 Roswell Road Marietta, GA 30062.
