7 August 1947 - 7 May 2014
Leo J. Tilley, 66, passed away on May 7th, 2014. He was surrounded by his wife and three children as he found peace after a 10-month battle with pancreatic cancer.
Born in Puerto Rico to a Navy family, Leo spent most of his childhood in Yokohama, Japan. He started college at Gonzaga University in Washington state and completed his degree at the University of Maryland.
Leo’s career in biomedical sales took him from Maryland to New York, Japan, Massachusetts, and most recently Alpharetta, Georgia to be the Director of Global Performance and Learning for Kimberly Clark. He previously worked with Kodak, Johnson & Johnson, Boston Scientific, and Heamonetics. He had a passion for teaching and writing, and recently published a chapter in “The Art of Modern Sales Management.”
Leo brought laughter to everything he did, be it work, parenting, or time with friends and family. He spoke his mind. He did headstands at parties. His perfect day was an afternoon fishing with a friend, buying a new knife for his collection, enjoying a beer before dinner, a steak on the grill, and finishing it off with a good bourbon.
He is survived by his wife Ellen and his children Erik, Lara, and Paul; His mother, Geraldine Tilley and siblings Dick Tilley, Pat Tilley, Phyllis Lynch, and Mark Tilley.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Emory Johns Creek Infusion Center in appreciation of their care and support during this journey.
