Mary J. Sutton, age 86, of Gainesville passed away peacefully in her sleep Thanksgiving morning, November 28, 2013 in Sandy Springs, Georgia. She was preceded in death by her husband William W. Sutton, her brother, Gardiner P. Johnson, Jr., her infant daughter Sandra Hoffman and her son, Robert A. Hoffman. Mary (Eloise) was the daughter of Gardiner P. Johnson and Francis Mann Johnson of New York where she grew up. She was known affectionately as “Mee-mo” to her family, including sons George Hoffman of Alpharetta, GA and Steve Hoffman of Cottontown, TN, and her 4 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Sutton had several jobs over her lifetime and served for a time as a volunteer at the Northeast Georgia Medical Center. A beautiful family memorial service was held in her honor on Saturday, November 30th in Rome, Georgia.
