Nancy Jean McComis

Mrs. Nancy Jean McComis, age 72, of Alpharetta, Georgia passed away on Monday, November 19, 2018. Nancy was born on March 7, 1946 in Sheboygan, Wisconsin, a daughter to the late Robert Hensel and Elvira Wagner Hensel.

Following her high school career at North High, Nancy received a Bachelor’s Degree from, The University of Wisconsin, Oshkosh, in Education. She married the love of her life, Robert ‘Bob’ McComis in August of 1969 and were wed for over 49 wonderful years. After having their two children, Bob and Nancy left Virginia and made their way to Georgia in 1996. Nancy was a devoted member of Christ the Shepherd Lutheran Church in Alpharetta. Her absolute favorite hobby was playing golf at Rivermont Golf Club in Alpharetta where she was a part of several ladies golf groups and social events. Nancy’s kind and radiant smile could easily brighten any room. She was a friend to many and a light to all who knew her. She was an exceptional wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend; Nancy will certainly be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Nancy is survived by her loving husband, Robert ‘Bob’ McComis; two children, Mark McComis, wife Jessica, of Cumming, Georgia and Christine Parks, husband Clay, of Alpharetta, Georgia; one brother, James Hensel; five grandchildren, Ansley, Tyler, Madilyn, Cole, and Nathaniel; and several nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends also survive.

A Memorial Service to honor the life of Mrs. Nancy McComis will be held at three o’clock in the afternoon on Friday, November 30th at Christ the Shepherd Lutheran Church, 4655 Webb Bridge Road Alpharetta, Georgia 30005.
