Patricia Champion Bridges, 84 passed away Feb. 29, 2012 in Atlanta GA. Pat was born and raised in Pekin , IL where she graduated high school as President of her senior class. She graduated from the University of Illinois where she was President of the Chi Omega sorority with a degree in Speech Pathology. She spent over 30 years dedicated to teaching in Columbia, SC, Atlanta, GA and Broward County FL. Pat received numerous awards for her commitment and positive impact on students including Teacher of the Year. She is predeceased by her husband of 39 years, Eugene Bridges and is survived by her children, Rebecca, Brian and daughter-in-law Barbara and Brad Bridges of Atlanta, GA; grandchildren, Jay Bridges and Ashley Hogge of Sacramento, CA, Josh and Chase Bridges of Atlanta; great-grandchildren, LJ Bridges, Colton and Brooks Hogge of Sacramento, CA and Kylie Bridges of Atlanta. There will be a private ceremony Sunday, March 4. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Helen Keller International.
