

Robert Lawson Hope, 75, a native of Atlanta, passed away May 15, 2011. Lawson attended R. L. Hope Grammar School and graduated from North Fulton High School in 1954. He attended Georgia State College and played second base and shortstop for the baseball team and also attended Presbyterian College in Clinton, SC. He served in the Army Reserves for 8 years. Lawson was a salesman in the steel industry for over 35 years, having been employed with Georgia Steel the majority of his career. He attended Lebanon Baptist Church in Roswell, GA. He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Beverly Roberts Hope; sisters Barbara Hope Hancock and Sally Hope Stancil of Roswell; brothers Lucien W. Hope, Jr. and wife Marie Jett Hope of Dunwoody and Dr. W. Martin Hope and wife Betty Jo Womack Hope of Rock Hill, SC; nieces Hope Hancock Juel, Amy Hancock Brock and Julie Hope Mirts; nephews Lucien W. Hope, III and William M. Hope, Jr. and several great nieces and nephews. Friends are invited to visit with the family Wednesday, May 18, from 5:00 - 7:00 P.M. at the Roswell Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 19, at 11:00 A.M. in the chapel of the Roswell Funeral Home, 950 Mansell Road, Roswell, GA 30076, with Pastor Paul Mann officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Lebanon Baptist Church, 11250 Crabapple Road, Roswell, GA, 30075 or to Atlanta Pet Rescue, 720 14th Street, NW, Atlanta, GA 30318. Arrangements are entrusted to Roswell Funeral Home.
