She was born on March 11, 1949 to Bettye C. Hardeman and Robert Cecil Hardeman in Atlanta, Georgia.
Vickie was known to be an avid gardener, a tremendous cook, and animal lover. She also loved to travel and was very active in genealogy. A few of her biggest and most cherished trips were to Ireland with her then husband, GP Lewis, her son Cade Lewis, and her daughter, Sasha Lewis Asumaa. She also went to Kenya and Tanzania with her son, Cade Lewis, and to Italy with her daughter, Sasha Lewis Asumaa.
Throughout her life, Vickie dabbled in building homes and photography. She designed and built her own home, which she lived in for most of her adult life. Her love of photography had her include a dark room in her home. She volunteered to be the Camp Sunshine photographer, a camp for kids with cancer, numerous times and spent much of her time with her horse, Pride, and her many dogs, Jake, Tulah, and Eleanor.
A small graveside memorial will be held at a date to be determined for close family members, where she will be laid to rest next to her mother, Bettye C. Hardeman , at Greenlawn Cemetery in Roswell. Part of her remains will also be buried at our family farm cemetery in Dunlap, Tennessee.
She is survived by her sister, Sherry Bosnak, her son, Cade Lewis, her daughter, Sasha Lewis Asumaa, her two grandchildren, Hazel and Oliver Asumaa, and her ex-husband, G.P. Lewis, who remained close to her and continued to care for her until the end of her life.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the National Adrenal Diseases Foundation at https://www.nadf.us/donate.html in memory of Vickie Hardeman Lewis.
