William "Bill" Eldridge Jackson

Mr. William ‘Bill’ Eldridge Jackson, age 85, of Atlanta, Georgia, passed away on Friday, May 31, 2019. Bill was born on July 9, 1933 in Luthersville, Georgia, a son of the late Eldridge Walker Jackson and Willie Mae Holt Jackson.

Bill spent most of his youth in the West Georgia area. He grew up on a family farm in and as an adult would return to enjoy his retirement there. Bill worked as the Head of Computer Services for the Atlanta Journal-Constitution for many years. In his spare time he enjoyed gardening, farming, and spending time with his family. Bill was a wonderful father, grandfather, brother, and friend; he will certainly be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Along with his parents, Bill is preceded in death by two siblings, Helen Shaddock and Roy Jackson.

He is survived by his two sons, Travis Jackson, wife Michele, of Atlanta, Georgia, and Tracey Jackson, wife Joanne, of Alpharetta, Georgia; four grandchildren, Kyle Jackson, Haley Jackson, Eric Jackson, and Davis Jackson; siblings, Geraldine Nichols and George Jackson; and several nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends also survive.

A funeral service to honor the life of Mr. Bill Jackson will be held at ten o’clock in the morning on Tuesday, June 4, 2019 in the Chapel of Roswell Funeral Home. All attendees are invited to a reception following the funeral services at Roswell Funeral Home

Interment will be held at one-thirty in the afternoon on Tuesday, June 4, 2019 in the Concord Baptist Church Cemetery, 3376 Harmony Road Temple, Georgia 30179.

The family will receive friends from six o’clock in the afternoon until eight on Monday, June 3, 2019 at Roswell Funeral Home.

In lieu of customary remembrances donations may be made to the Arthritis Foundation.
