Bill graduated from the University of Alabama with a chemistry degree. Bill then accepted a job with Sun Chemical, moving back to his Southern roots in Stone Mountain, Georgia. Bill finished his successful career with Niacet, HQ in Buffalo, New York.
Bill was a dedicated fan of the NY Yankees and Atlanta Braves, and YES he was a fan of BOTH Alabama and Auburn sports. He was an avid golfer, and storyteller and had a wonderful sense of humor. Most of all he was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. Bill was kind, selfless, and a true gentleman in every sense of the word.
Bill enjoyed his retirement years with the love of his life, Jimmie Sue, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren while substitute teaching at many Forsyth County Schools. “Mr. S” was dearly loved by his students and faculty. Bill’s lifelong Catholic faith is an inspiration that lives in all of us forever. Bill was a friend to everyone who met him, especially his neighbors, students, colleagues, and all in the community.
