Loving husband, father, grandfather, generous, and kind gentleman who will be missed by all who knew and loved him. James was born in England, survived the German bombings during World War II, married his soulmate Josephine at age 22, then set off with his new bride in pursuit of adventure, opportunity and the American dream, stopping in Canada first. The family made it to wonderful, sunny Southern California where they settled, and raised four children. James earned a teaching credential from UCLA, retired early and traveled the world with his "rock" and wife of 62 years who he nicknamed Daisy. James was a scholar, a superb historian and geographer, animal lover, bird watcher, and proud Englishman. He had a twinkle in his eye, a great smile and is greatly missed.
