Pat has two sisters, Bobbie Faase (deceased) and Sally Sherlock. Pat has three sons Matthew, James and Michael (deceased). She has three grand children, Samuel, Sofia and Benjamin. Pat has several nieces, nephews and cousins.
June 12, 1962 Patricia (Pat) married David (Dave) Grisey. Because of job opportunities Pat and Dave made several location moves (Milwaukee WI, Kenosha, WI, La Porte, IN, Strongsville OH, Rockford IL and Independence, OH) before settling in Diamond Bar CA in 1986. During those transition years (1962 – 1986), Pat raised a family, developed a nursing (RN) career as well as actively participating in each community as an involved and productive citizen.
Pat really settled into Southern California not only as a mother but also as a caregiver, volunteer, registered nurse and all around community activist. She was very active in Jim’s development as his care giver because of his special needs. Pat was also a very involved volunteer (Human Rights Committee) at the Lanterman Developmental Center in Pomona, CA insuring that residents were properly cared for when the center was an active facility. And at the same time, She perused her cherished career of nursing; working as a registry nurse and visiting nurse. Over the years she developed an excellent reputation of being able to successfully step into diverse nursing assignments for several hospitals in Los Angeles and Orange Counties. Pat didn’t stop there. She was very involved in sharing the expertise she developed over the years in special needs work and nursing with people who asked for help,
About two years ago Pat was diagnosed with lung cancer. The chemotherapy and radiation treatments really slowed her down to where she was walker and wheel chair bound. However, she still continued her care giver efforts in maintaining Jim’s health and living status.
Pat will be missed by many of her professional colleagues, friends and family.
