

Vito Domnick Spillone, 79, of Hacienda Heights, California, passed away Wednesday, December 9, 2015 at Presbyterian Intercommunity Hospital in Whittier, California. He suffered from a stroke in his basilar artery which caused significant damage to his brain stem on Sunday November 29, 2015. Vito was unable to recover from the damage that this stroke caused and died peacefully in his sleep with his wife Linda by his side.
Vito is survived by his wife Linda of 26 years, daughters: Deborah Perri, Laura Chwarzynski, Lisa Rojano, Vita Davis, sons: Vito Spillone Jr., Joseph Spillone, brothers: Frank Spillone, Anthony Spillone, sisters: Chris Tobias, Marie Valentine, his 10 grandchildren, nieces, nephews and extended family. Vito was a loving and generous father, husband, grandfather and friend to all.
Vito was born July 19, 1936 in Chicago, Illinois to Frank and Angelica Spillone. Vito was the youngest of 10 children and started working at a young age to help out his large family. He worked many years in the masonry business with his brothers until he decided to move to Southern California and start a new career. In 1976 he started an Italian food distribution business, Angie's Wholesale Groceries, Inc., which is celebrating it's 40th anniversary this June. Vito still worked everyday unloading trucks and helping the employees out when needed. On his free time Vito enjoyed relaxing with his dog Frank and gardening in his backyard. You could always find him with a cigar in his mouth.
Visitation will be from 4:00 until 8:00 PM with a rosary at 6:30 PM on Tuesday December 15, 2015 at Queen of Heaven Catholic Cemetery at 2161 S. Fullerton Rd., Rowland Heights, CA 91748
A mass for Vito will be held at 1:30 PM on Wednesday December 16, 2015 at Queen of Heaven Catholic Cemetery at 2161 S. Fullerton Rd., Rowland Heights, CA 91748. Monsignor Tim Nichols from St. John Vianney Catholic Church will be officiating.
Vito will be laid to rest the following week at Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Hillside, Illinois.
