Anthony John Ponce

Anthony Ponce passed away peacefully in his Sacramento home on November 9, 2017. Anthony, known to his family and friends as "Tony" and "Uncle Tony" was born in Sacramento, CA, on May 23, 1942 to Dolores and Esteban Ponce. Anthony is survived by his beloved partner of 28 years, Terry Adamson; sister Guadalupe Dolores "Honey" Gutierrez, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Preceded in death by his brother Carneto "Arthur" Gutierrez, and sisters Mary Jessie Mata (Peter), Apolonia "Paula" Ward, Rosalia "Rosie" O'Hare and Eugenia "Jeanie" Cruiel. He was a United States Army Veteran of the Vietnam War era. He retired from the U.S. Army Depot in Sacramento, CA. He leaves a lasting legacy marked by his sense of humor, quick wit, charisma, intelligence and deep love for his partner and family. We are comforted knowing he is in a better place, reunited with his parents and other family members. He will be deeply missed, and will live in our hearts forever. A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 pm on Mon., November 20 at Harry A. Nauman & Son Funeral Home: 4041 Freeport Blvd., Sacramento, CA 95821. Committal will follow at East Lawn Memorial Park, 4300 Folsom Blvd., Sacramento.
