Antonio Cano, 86, died peacefully at home on July 15, 2015. Born August 5, 1928, in Loomis CA, Tony grew up in North Beach CA. At age 16 he joined the U.S. Merchant Marines, sailing to China, the Philippines, Panama, Alaska and New York. At 21 he was conscripted for the Korean War and fought with the Arkansas National Guard "Long Tom's," a long range artillery battery. He later went to work for the State of CA printing plant where he worked until retirement. He was pre-ceded in death by Nelda Cano, his wife of over 45 years and his brother Manuel Cano. He had a natural talent for organic gardening which he practiced for decades. He was a sculptor and utilized this passion in his outdoor studio making many beautiful marble sculptures. A stand-up guy that always did the right thing. He was a devoted father to son Michael & daughter Margaret and a loving and proud grandpa to Sarah & Valentina. Services: July 24, 2015, 10:30 am, at Nicoletti's Funeral Home, Folsom Blvd. Burial following service at St Mary's.
