My beloved wife and mother to our four sons Barbara J. Pixley peacefully ended her journey on earth on March 8, 2016, at our home of 36 years in Sacramento, after a one year long battle with lung cancer. She was born in Stillwater MN, the daughter of John and Phyllis Robertson.
Her dad was in the military, so she lived all over during her youth. Her parents retired in Enterprise Alabama, where she spent her High school years and graduated from Enterprise High.
She worked at a number of jobs, including as an airline flight attendant before starting on a career with Pacific Bell. She met and married her husband while working there in San Jose. They were married in 1981 and moved to Sacramento that year. In the early 90’s she became a causality of the telcom consolidations and left what was then AT&T. She decided to return to school to become a dental hygienist. In the past 20 year as a hygienist, she was well liked and developed many close personal friendships with her patients.
Her and her husband had a wonderful 35 years being married and raising 3 sons (1 son died of SIDS as an infant) and two granddaughters. Other than her family which she loved and valued above all else, she was the happiest at her favorite penny slot machines at the Peppermill casino in Reno, chasing a jackpot with a hand payout. She, also enjoyed bowling and was taking up biking and golf.
In accordance with her final wishes, a private memorial was held. Condolences and Memories may be viewed or left at her memorial page located at www.mem.com.
