Braden is survived by his wife, Vy; brothers David, Robert, Dan, Eric and Wai Kiu; and sister Jennifer. He is preceded in death by his father, Fook Poy Lee, and his mother, Kin Wah Tong Lee.
Braden Pak Fung Lee was born on November 14, 1964 in Hong Kong. He immigrated to the U.S. with his mother, sister and one of his brothers on June 17, 1970. He spent his elementary and high school years in San Francisco and Sacramento.
Braden attended Sacramento City College, California College of the Arts and Sacramento State University, graduating from Sac State with a degree in graphic design and a minor in computer science.
After a short stint at a design company, Braden worked as a graphic designer at Alldata, an automotive software company, for 11 years, making many lifelong friends. For the past several years he was working in the family clinic as office manager. He was loved and adored by all the patients who came through the door (and brought him donuts, cookies or other treats on a regular basis).
After a courtship that began as a pen-pal relationship, Vy Ti Teung Le moved from Viet Nam to Sacramento in 2014, and she and Braden were married in 2015. Braden adored his “Bunny” and blossomed with her companionship, despite health challenges he was facing.
Braden loved spending time with his family and friends and was always ready with a kind word or a joke to share. He was an incredibly talented artist and he loved to cook, two gifts he also enjoyed sharing with his loved ones. Braden was happiest when surrounded by people enjoying good food and conversation. He created a feeling of family and community with everyone he knew.
Braden was a kind, gentle, generous man with a sharp intellect and a unique way of looking at life. He was affectionate and funny, smart and creative, goofy and romantic. He was truly special, a gift in this world. His dream was to never grow up.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, February 15th at 11 a.m., with a reception to follow, at Harry A. Nauman & Son funeral home, 4041 Freeport Boulevard in Sacramento. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Braden's life. Flowers can be sent to the funeral home and donations can be made to Donate Life America, a nonprofit organization working to increase organ donation to heal and save lives, at www.donatelife.net.
The burial will take place on Sunday, February 16th at 11 a.m., at Rolling Hills Memorial Park,
4100 Hilltop Drive in Richmond.
