Buford Leroy Wright "Jim"

Jim died peacefully at home surrounded by his wife and children on January 13, 2017. He recently celebrated his 88th birthday. Jim attended Grant Union High School. He joined the US Marines in 1946 and is a veteran of the Korean War. He was preceded in death by his mother, Lesley Luevano; father, Buford Wright; sisters Sue Averill, Dolores Tutor, Connie Perez and Beatrice Dodson. He is survived by his wife Shirley of 63 years, daughter Karen Wright, son’s Matthew Wright (Jody), Steven Wright and daughter Julie Collins (Stacy); grandchildren Brianne Pinckney (Adam), Amanda Madrigal (Joshua), Joshua and Faith Wright, Kyle, Austin, Ryan and Ian Collins; great-grandchildren Mason, Cody and Taylor Pinckney; brother Melvin Wright (Marilynn), brother-in-law Ed Averill, sisters Susan and Patricia Wright and many nieces and nephews that loved him dearly.

Viewing will be held on Monday, January 23, 2017 from 4 to 7pm, with Rosary at 6pm at Nicoletti, Culjis & Herberger Funeral Home, 5401 Folsom Blvd., Sacramento, CA.

Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, January 24, 2017 at 11am, at St Peters Church, 6210 McMahon Drive, Sacramento, CA. Interment immediately following at St. Mary’s Cemetery, 6509 Fruitridge Road, Sacramento, CA.
