CARMELITA DOMINGUEZ MONTGOMERY was born on February 16, 1947 to Aurea Francisco and Jose Nilo Dominguez in Manila, Philippines. Lita married Claude Montgomery of Cheyenne, Oklahoma and became a widow in 2018. Lita is survived by her step-daughter Deanna (Randy), grandkids Zachary and Matthew, and her siblings Leo, Tess (Roger), Alice (Jun) and Tony (Mitz), many nieces and nephews. Her youngest brother Larry died in 1992.
Lita graduated from Manila High School in 1964 and subsequently worked at Clark Air Base as Secretary at McArthur Elementary School. She migrated to the United States on May 8, 1976 and worked for State of California and retired after 25 years. Known to most as “Lita” and to family as “Tita Litz,” she was a second mother to many. Lita had a generous heart, loved to travel, crochet, feed stray cats and visit thrift stores “that led to her collections” ~ you name it, she had it.” When family members were looking for something, we say, “call Tita Litz first” as most likely, she’ll have it. Lita had a great sense of humor. Even during her illness, she would come up with short one-liners that put a smile on faces of those around her.
Lita will be missed and will remain forever in our hearts.
