

Crescencio Ruiz Sanchez passed away at 94 in Sacramento CA in the comfort of his home surrounded by family. The viewing will be held on Tues. Aug. 23 between 4 and 7:00 rosary to follow at Nicoletti, Culjis, and Herberger Funeral Home 5401 Folsom Blvd. Sacramento, CA 95819. Funeral services and a celebration of life will be held at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery on Sat. Aug. 27 at 11:00 at 6509 Fruitridge Rd. Sacramento, CA 95820. He was born in Montebello, CA on 12-16-21. He married Amelia Gonzales 6-25-42, was honorably discharged from the 89th Station Complement Squadron as a Corporal in the United States Army in April 1947. He was awarded the World War 2 Victory Medal and the Army of Occupation Medal. He later worked at McClellan Air Force base where he retired after 44 years. His greatest passion was music, he belonged to Local 12 Sacramento Musicians Union. He played in many bands and night clubs as well as weddings over the years. He was in high demand as a drummer and yet few knew he couldn't read music it was pure talent. He is survived by his wife of 74 years, Amelia, sister Mary Tequita, sons Christopher and David, as well as many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents Crescenciano and Maria Sanchez, many brothers and sisters, and his precious daughter Patricia.
