Born June 9, 1932 in Reno, Nevada, Em passed away in Sacramento December 13, 2012 at home surrounded by loving family. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Mary Ann (Zarzana), his sister Sr. Bede Heinen, O.P., his daughters Marilyn, Roselle, Rene and son David. Also survived by six grandchildren and one great grandchild. He is preceded in death by his parents and brother. Em served in the U.S. Navy as a Radar man III and worked for 33 years as an Engineer for PacTel. During retirement Em enjoyed golfing, RVing, going on cruises with his wife, and volunteering at St. Philomene's. He was a member of Elks #2103 and ICF Branch #45, St. Mary's. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. A Memorial Mass will be held at a later date.
