Ernestine Ano

Ernestine (Tina) Martinez Año was born on January 26, 1952, in San Jose, CA. After a ten-year battle with cancer, Tina passed away on June 1, 2022, at her home in Sacramento surrounded by her loving family. Tina’s family lovingly called her “Nini” a term for Godmother, as she imparted so much love and kindness to all those that knew her. Family was very important to Tina; she was happiest when attending family celebrations. Tina also had a close group of friends that were like family whom she loved spending time with whether it be a weekend getaway, shopping or just lunch. Tina worked for AT&T for 25 years before retiring. She then volunteered at Mercy Hospital before returning back to the workforce at CB&T Bank for 6 years. Tina had a beautiful smile and a big heart. She was loved by so many; she will be forever missed.

Tina is survived by her husband of 32 years Gaudioso (JR) Año. Brothers Bobby (Liz) Martinez of San Jose, CA; Tomas (Anna) Martinez of Boerne, TX; Jesse (Susan) Martinez of San Jose, CA. Sisters Linda Montano of Los Baños, CA and Mary (Jim) Vasquez of San Diego, CA. Sister-in law Eva (Jim) Tagle of Fullerton, CA. Along with numerous nieces and nephews. Tina is proceeded in death by her parents, Guillermo & Socorro Martinez, sister Pauline Martinez and niece Valerie Cuevas.
