

Gordon Keith Krebs, 83, passed away in Sacramento, CA on October 10, 2014 after a determined fight with several cancers. He was born to Chester and Grace Krebs of Colfax, Iowa on June 10, 1931, graduated from Colfax High School and attended University Northern Iowa before joining the Marines during the Korean War. He is survived by brother, Donald Krebs of Fairfield, CA; sister, Cheryl Johnson of Colorado Springs, CO; sons, Robert Gordon Krebs of Cambridge, MA, Kendall Keith (Tammy) Krebs of Pella, IA, Keith Stanley and daughter, Wendy Randolph both of Sacramento. He is also survived by grandchildren, Amy Randolph, Robert Gordon Randolph, and Bailey Stanley and was an honorary grandfather to the neighborhood children. He is also remembered as a favorite uncle to his nieces and nephews. His wife, LaVerne; son, Ronald Stanley and sister, Marilyn Rae Schertz predeceased him. Gordon worked at Blue Diamond Almond Growers and after retirement drove Greyhound Bus and later a Sacramento International Airport shuttle bus. His true passion though was automobiles; he auto crossed and raced sports cars. He was a founder and president of the 240Z Owners of Northern California. He joined the Sports Car Club of America, San Francisco Region in 1959 and has been honored with a National Lifetime Membership and was Chief Course Marshall for many years. A Memorial Service and reception will be held November 15, 2014 at 1:00 pm at Harry A. Nauman & Son, 4041 Freeport Boulevard, Sacramento, CA 95822. The family hopes to have a victory lap in his honor at a later date. He is greatly missed by all.
