Harold Cornelius Knedel

Harold C. Knedel died in Sacramento on November 20, 2010. He was born in Sacramento January 28, 1928 to Richard Knedel and Violet Kirkman Knedel. Harold had a long career in California State service, starting out as a tab operator trainee and retiring as the Assistant Director of the Department of Justice Law Enforcement Consolidated Data Center. He was respected by his subordinate staff and peers and was sought after for his skills as a problem solver and innovator. In his early years he was an avid hunter, but in later life fishing and spending as much time as possible at Dillon Beach were his passions. He was preceded in death by his son, Gary, and daughter Teri Ann Bonge. He is survived by his wife Louise; his sons, Jerry (Dana), James, and Jonathan; stepdaughter, Cynthia Krohn (Patrick); grandchildren, Matthew Knedel, Jeremy Knedel, Jason Knedel, Amy Knedel, Abigail Krohn, and Isabel Krohn; niece Deniece Radan; and nephew Richard Radan (Linda). Friends are welcome for visitation Sunday, November 28, 2010 from 1pm to 5pm and to attend Services Monday, November 29, 2010 at 2:00pm at Nicoletti, Culjis & Herberger Funeral Home, 5401 Folsom Blvd., 451-7284. Interment will be held Tuesday, November 30, 2010 at 1:00pm at Tomales Catholic Cemetery, 1400 Dillon Beach Rd, Tomales, CA 94971.
