Passed into the presence of her Lord and Savior on the afternoon of January 6, 2013 after a 2 1/2 year battle with cancer. Linda was born in San Bernardino, California on July 12, 1947. She was raised in Big Bear Lake, California.
After graduating from Big Bear High School, Linda moved to Sacramento, California. She met Sean Padovan in 1966, and they were married one year later. She was a dedicated mother to Shannon and Holly. In 1982 the family opened up their hearts & home to Kimberly Upton, and she became a beloved member of the family.
Linda's life was always about family and reaching out to those in need. Linda had a Special Olympics team. Linda was instrumental in book drives, a student buddy lunch program, supplies for Africa, and she sponsored a student from Africa.
Linda found her passion helping the homeless men and women at Loaves and Fishes where she volunteered for the last 16 years. On Wednesdays, she could be found feeding the hungry in Friendship Park. She collected hundreds of new shoes, socks, sleeping bags, and other basic needs. She also enjoyed her time helping the women at Sister Nora's Place (a shelter for women).
Linda is survived by her husband of 45 years, Sean; her daughters Shannon Paclovan, Holly Jamias (James Jamias), Kimberly Upton; and her three grandchildren who meant everything to her, Bryce Jamias, Austin Del Chiaro, and Brooklyn Jamias. She is also survived by her mother, Norma Harper and her siblings, Karen Prentiss, Frances Johnson, Larry Pinkstaff and numerous relatives.
You are invited to a celebration of her life to be held at St. John's Lutheran Church, 1701 L Street, Sacramento, on Mon., Jan. 14 at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers Linda has requested donations be made to Loaves and Fishes.
