

Magdeline was born on April 26, 1956 in San Bernadino, CA. Her family moved to Sacramento, CA, in 1961, where she attended Mira Loma High School. She then continued her education at Sacramento State University, where she achieved both a Bachelors and Masters degree. While growing up, Magdeline was significantly involved in the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church in Sacramento and various Greek Heritage organizations, including the Maids of Athena and the Annunciation Youth Greek Dancing group. Magdeline devoted her entire career to helping individuals with counseling services and mental health. Her hundreds of clients throughout Northern California felt her lifelong passion for making a difference. Magdeline was also immersed in intellectual disability rights advocacy and spent the last decade working with Special Olympics and Best Buddies. She was preceded in death by her parents, Angelo and Sophia Zogopoulos. Magdeline is survived by her loving daughter, Katina, brother, Tony, sister-in-law, Carolyn, nieces, Sophia and Alexa, and many cousins she adored.
A Trisagion will be held at Nicoletti, Culjis & Herberger Funeral Home on Friday, December 27th at 6:30 p.m. Funeral service will be held at Saint Katherine Greek Orthodox Church on Saturday, December 28th at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Saint Katherine Greek Orthodox Church.
