

A native of Sacramento, Mark was born on August 6, 1961 and passed away in West Sacramento on January 7, 2015. Mark was an active member of E Clampus Vitus (ECV) being Ex Noble Grand Humbug (XNGH) New Helvetia Chapter 5. He was also active in James Marshall Chapter 49 and Major William Downie Chapter 1849.Mark graduated from St. Mary's elementary School and Christian Brothers High School. Mark attended Cosumnes River College, earning an AE degree in drafting/CAD. In 1985 Mark began working in the elevator industry, starting at Elevator Industries then to U.S. Elevator and later became a Project Manager at ThyssenKrupp Elevator.
Mark loved Lake Tahoe and biking along American River Parkway. Often involved in Clamper “doings” with many chapter “brothers”, they were often a part of ECV toy drives for St. Anthony’s Orphanage in San Francisco and Mustard Seed in Sacramento as well as fireworks sales for 4th of July to raise money for charity. Mark was also a diehard Raiders fan, Giants fan and NHL hockey fan.
Mark is survived by his parents Claire and Joseph Mellish; sister Laura (Mellish) Brinson; brothers Steve Mellish (wife Valerie), Dave Mellish (wife Kristi); nieces Daphne and Brenna and nephew Bryce.
A Visitation will be held on Wed. January 14 from 4-7pm at Nicoletti, Culjis & Herberger Funeral Home, 5401 Folsom Blvd. Funeral Mass will be held on Thur. January 15 at 10am at St. Mary’s Church, 1333 58th St. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to St. Mary’s Elementary School or Christian Brothers High School in Mark’s memory.
