Michael Pickens

Michael Pickens was born in Dayton on May 3rd, 1980 and raised in Huber Heights, Ohio, where he lived with his mother, Melody Lynn Neal, sister Michelle, father and later stepfather. Michael made many friends along the way, and even by age 18 he was part of a large online community of people all over the country. After getting his associate’s degree, he moved to Gunbarrel, Colorado, back to Ohio, then after visiting a convention in the area, finally settled in the San Francisco Bay Area in 2004. He moved around a bit in the area, living in Greenbrae, Newark, Fremont, and San Jose.

In late 2007 and early 2008, Michael bought his first ever new car, started his career at Mechanicnet, and he met his future husband Keith Jones. In 2011 they moved in together to Pleasanton, and in 2016 Keith and Michael were married in Las Vegas. In 2020, Keith and Michael purchased a home in Sacramento and moved there. Sadly, Michael passed away unexpectedly on August 17, 2020. He is survived by his husband Keith, mother Melody, sister Michelle, mother in law Bev and father in law Ron and a huge host of wonderful friends that he made over the years.

Michael’s friendly and outgoing attitude and spirit will be deeply missed. There will never be another like him.

A funeral service for Michael will be held Saturday, September 5, 2020 from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Lombard Funeral Home, 1550 Fulton Avenue, Sacramento, CA 95825.
